FOUNDER OF THE SCHOOL:
The late Sri S. Alwardas (Founder of this institution) whose commitment, unsparing zeal and broad vision brought up this Institution into one of the best Institutions of Visakhapatnam was born on 31st October, 1930 in Visakhapatnam City in a respectable family. His parents were Sri Srinivasa Rao Naidu and Smt. Alivelu Manga Thayaramma. He had his school education in Narasipatnam, Srikakulam, Ichapuram, Parvathipuram and Anakapalli and Intermediate in Visakhapatnam. He is a Post gradate in Economics from Andhra University, Visakhapatnam and L.L.B. from Delhi University.
He took keen interest in Public affairs at an early age, worked in Student Congress and participated in the Quit India Movement. After Independence he was in the thick of the struggle for Andhra State in early 50s and also participated in the agitation for a steel plant at Visakhapatnam.He was elected as the Municipal Councillor of Visakhapatnam for 2 terms and became Vice-Chairman during the 2nd term in 1978. He was elected a member of the Legislative Assembly of Andhra Pradesh and elevated as the Minister for Municipal Administration, Urban Development and Education.
During his tenure as Municipal Councillor, M.L.A and Minister he laid a firm foundation for the present prosperity of Visakhapatnam city and the region around. When slums were considered as cancer of the cities and everybody advocated their removal from the middle of the cities, he took up slum improvement schemes in 1965 and established Urban Community Development Department in Visakhapatnam city and as the Minister for Municipal Administration and Urban Development took up slum improvement and Weaker Section Housing schemes all over Andhra Pradesh. He personally established three educational societies Sri Venkateswara Vidya Peeth (Regd.), Visakhapatnam in 1978, Sri Srinivasa Vidya Parishad (Regd.), Visakhapatnam in 1980, Sri Balaji Vidya Parishad (Regd.) Visakhapatnam in 1990.
He was an active member in many social organizations like Lions, Rotary, Y's men. He was the founder President of Walkers International, a health oriented organization which has over 300 clubs in India and abroad.
Even though he occupied high positions of power like Minister for Urban Development, he remained a clean public figure and set an example of impeccable probity and an exemplary accountability in public life.
